Session Description: This is the PFC update as described in the MOU between SOMA and the PFCC. This presentation will detail the need for, and importance of, training non-medics beyond TCCC in support of irregular warfare objectives. This presentation will also detail the experience of the presenter in training non-medics beyond the common team-room cross-training, or TCCC-ASM requirement. Non-Medics have been trained to act as an assistant or enabler to their team medic, to take care of an injured medic or act as local medical support when there are not enough medics for each element as in the case of Special Forces split team operations.
Learning Objectives:
describe possible future operating environments and historical cases in which non-medics Special Forces Soldiers require additional medical training.
describe the need for training non-medic Special Forces Soldiers beyond Tier 2 TCCC CLS.
identify gaps in training plans for non-medic Special Forces Soldiers.
