MSG Joseph Rangel serves as a Senior Healthcare Non-Commissioned Officer in the North Carolina National Guard (NCNG), drawing on 13.5 years of active-duty experience with the 75th Ranger Regiment and United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). He holds certifications as a Special Operations Advanced Tactical Paramedic (SO-ATP), Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP), and Flight Paramedic (FP-C), and earned a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care (BS-EMC). He is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Medical Physiology at the University of Florida.
He has contributed to the planning and coordination of medical operations in high-stakes missions and large-scale efforts, including serving as a medical operations liaison during the Hurricane Helene response. In that role, he supported decision-makers by aligning medical assets with operational priorities across multiple command levels.
Joseph is also the Director of the Veteran Scholarship Program at SOFtoSOM, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports transitioning veterans pursuing careers in medicine.
